1. Introduction
Welcome to E-Ntare, the Electronic Ntare Ecosystem ("E-Ntare," "Platform," "we," "us," or "our").
E-Ntare is a digital community, e-commerce, financial resource-mobilisation, and networking platform designed to connect Ntare School Old Boys, well-wishers, affiliates, and members of the wider Ntare community.
The Platform is operated by Makochera Enterprise, in association with Ntare School Old Boys Association (NSOBA) where applicable.
These Terms and Conditions govern your access to and use of the E-Ntare website ( e-ntare.com), the mobile application, and all related services.
By creating an account, accessing, or using E-Ntare, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.
2. Definitions
- "Platform" means the E-Ntare website and mobile application together with their related services.
- "User," "you," or "your" means any person who accesses, registers for, or uses the Platform.
- "Content" means text, images, video, photographs, comments, posts, advertisements, documents, and any other material submitted, displayed, or made available through the Platform.
- "Services" means the features and functions provided through E-Ntare, including shopping, donations, business listings, events, networking, chat, quizzes, and community communication.
- "Contribution" means a donation, payment, purchase, registration fee, listing fee, or other amount paid through the Platform.
- "Third-Party Provider" means any external person, business, payment processor, delivery service, or service provider used in connection with the Platform.
3. Eligibility and User Registration
3.1 Eligibility
You may use E-Ntare only if you are legally capable of entering into a binding agreement under applicable law. If you are under the age of 18, you may use the Platform only with the involvement and permission of a parent or legal guardian where required by law. Certain purchases, donations, or financial transactions may have additional age or eligibility requirements.
3.2 Account Creation
Some Platform features require you to create an account. During registration you may be asked to provide accurate information including your full name, email address, telephone number, password, user category (Old Boy or Well-wisher), and, where applicable, your school house, years spent at Ntare, admission year, graduation year, class joined, and relationship to the school community.
You agree to provide truthful, current, and complete information. You must not create an account using false or misleading information, or impersonate another person.
3.3 Account Security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login details and for all activity conducted through your account. You must:
- Keep your password confidential;
- Avoid sharing account access with unauthorised persons;
- Notify us promptly if you suspect any unauthorised access; and
- Provide accurate information when requested for verification.
We reserve the right to suspend, restrict, or close accounts that contain false information, impersonate others, or violate these Terms.
3.4 Ntare Icons and Recognition
The Platform may contain recognition tiers, badges, or "Ntare Icons" granted by NSOBA or authorised administrators to individuals whose contributions to the Ntare community are considered notable. Recognition status is subject to administrative criteria and may be reviewed, changed, or withdrawn. An Icon badge or recognition status does not represent a financial entitlement, official employment position, or legal membership of NSOBA.
4. Acceptable Use of the Platform
You agree to use E-Ntare responsibly, lawfully, and in a manner that respects other members of the community. You must not:
- Use the Platform for unlawful, fraudulent, or dishonest purposes.
- Impersonate another person, Old Boy, organisation, or NSOBA representative.
- Harass, threaten, abuse, bully, or intimidate other users.
- Publish defamatory, hateful, discriminatory, obscene, or unlawful content.
- Upload content that infringes another person's intellectual property, privacy, or other rights.
- Use the Platform to distribute malware, spam, or unauthorised advertising.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to accounts, systems, or administrative functions.
- Interfere with the operation, security, or availability of the Platform.
- Use automated tools to scrape, copy, or collect data without written authorisation.
- Use community information for harassment, fraud, or unauthorised commercial purposes.
We may investigate suspected violations and take appropriate action, including removing content, restricting access, or suspending accounts.
5. Platform Services
E-Ntare provides the following services. Features, availability, and functionality may change over time.
5.1 Shop — E-Commerce Marketplace
The Shop enables users to browse and purchase official Ntare merchandise, sports jerseys, branded products, and other approved goods.
- Product descriptions, prices, sizes, colours, and availability may change without notice.
- Product images are for illustration and may not exactly represent the final product.
- Orders are subject to product availability and successful payment.
- Users must provide accurate delivery and contact information.
- Delivery charges and timelines will be displayed before checkout where applicable.
- Returns, exchanges, defective products, and refunds are handled according to the applicable product-specific policy communicated at the time of purchase.
5.2 Donate — Contributions and Resource Mobilisation
The Donate feature enables users to contribute towards approved school projects, community members, and special causes. Donation categories may include general school support, infrastructure projects, condolence and emergency support, assistance to individual Old Boys or community members, and other approved initiatives.
Unless explicitly stated otherwise, a donation is a voluntary contribution and is not a purchase, investment, loan, or promise of financial return. Donations are generally non-refundable unless a refund is required by law or expressly provided under the applicable campaign terms.
Where a campaign is managed on behalf of NSOBA or another beneficiary, the applicable campaign information identifies the purpose, intended beneficiary, and responsible administrator. Donation records and reports may be provided through the Platform or other authorised communication channels.
5.3 Business Directory
The Business Directory allows members of the Ntare community to list, promote, and advertise their businesses. Business owners are responsible for ensuring that their listings contain accurate and lawful information. You must not submit false business names, misleading claims, fraudulent offers, infringing content, or unlawful goods or services.
The Platform may charge a one-time business listing registration fee (currently UGX 5,000). Applicable charges, payment terms, and refund conditions are displayed before payment. A business listing does not necessarily mean that E-Ntare, NSOBA, or Ntare School endorses or recommends the business. Users should independently verify businesses before entering into transactions.
5.4 Opportunities
The Opportunities feature connects users with employment, career, business, and professional networking opportunities. E-Ntare does not guarantee employment, investment, the accuracy of every opportunity listing, or any specific career or financial outcome. Users are responsible for independently verifying opportunities.
5.5 Events
The Events feature may display NSOBA, Ntare School, and community events. Features may include event information, registration, attendance arrangements, and post-event galleries. Event dates, venues, fees, speakers, and programmes may change or be cancelled. Where an event is cancelled or materially changed, the applicable organiser or Platform policy governs refunds and alternative arrangements.
5.6 Today on Ntare
Today on Ntare provides school news, sports coverage, daily updates, and community information. Content may be submitted by administrators, authorised contributors, or third parties. We aim to maintain accurate content but do not guarantee that every update is complete, current, or error-free.
5.7 Blog
The Blog enables users and approved contributors to share stories, experiences, motivation, and other content relating to the Ntare community. Contributor submissions are reviewed before publication. We may moderate, edit, or remove content that violates these Terms or applicable law.
5.8 Quizzes
Quizzes are intended for educational, entertainment, and community engagement purposes. Quiz results, scores, rankings, or prizes are subject to the rules displayed for the relevant quiz. Where prizes or competitions are offered, additional terms may apply.
5.9 Reviews and Feedback
Users may submit reviews and feedback about the Platform, products, events, or services. Reviews are moderated before publication. We may moderate, remove, or decline to publish feedback that is unlawful, misleading, abusive, or unrelated to the relevant service.
5.10 Ekiganiro / Ntare Open Chat
The Open Chat feature enables community discussions and interactions. Users must maintain respectful communication and comply with these Terms. Harassment, hate speech, threats, fraud, spam, impersonation, sharing of private information without authorisation, and unlawful content are prohibited. E-Ntare may moderate discussions, remove posts, or restrict users where necessary. Open Chat is a community communication feature; users should not assume that every message is official NSOBA or E-Ntare communication.
5.11 Bwera-Ntare / Mary-Ntare Portals
The Platform may provide dedicated spaces for partner or sister entities, including Bwera-Ntare and Mary-Ntare. The relevant entity or authorised administrator is responsible for the accuracy and management of its portal content.
5.12 Notifications and App Permissions
With your permission, the mobile app may send you local system notifications — for example, when a new message arrives in the Ekiganiro Open Chat. Notifications are never enabled without your explicit opt-in, and you can disable or manage them at any time through your device settings.
The app may also request device permissions only where a specific feature needs them (for example, access to your photo library when you choose to upload a profile photo, business image, or chat attachment). We do not access your photos, contacts, location, or other device data unless you have taken an action that requires it and have granted the relevant permission.
6. Payments, Fees, and Transactions
6.1 Payment Methods
E-Ntare supports payment via mobile money (including MTN Mobile Money and Airtel Money), bank transfers, and other approved payment methods as displayed on the Platform. Available payment methods may vary by service and location.
6.2 Transaction Authorisation
By initiating a transaction, you confirm that you are authorised to use the selected payment method and that you agree to provide accurate payment and billing information.
6.3 Fees
Any applicable purchase price, delivery charge, registration fee, listing fee, service charge, or other fee will be displayed or communicated before the relevant transaction where reasonably practicable.
6.4 Failed Transactions
If a payment fails, is reversed, or remains incomplete, the Platform may delay or cancel the related transaction until payment is confirmed. Users should contact the relevant payment provider or E-Ntare support if funds have been deducted but the transaction is not reflected.
6.5 Third-Party Payment Providers
Payment transactions are processed by MarzPay. Payment processing is subject to MarzPay's terms and conditions. E-Ntare is not responsible for failures caused solely by a third-party payment system, subject to applicable law.
7. Intellectual Property Rights
7.1 Ownership of Platform Content
Unless otherwise stated, E-Ntare and its licensors retain rights in the Platform, including its software, design, branding, logos, graphics, interface, and original content. Ntare School, NSOBA, and other rights holders retain ownership of their respective names, logos, crests, trademarks, and other intellectual property.
7.2 User Content
You retain ownership of original content you submit to the Platform, subject to the rights and permissions granted under these Terms. By submitting content, you grant E-Ntare a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, display, distribute, and adapt that content as reasonably necessary to operate, promote, and improve the Platform.
7.3 User Representations
By uploading content, you confirm that: you own the content or have permission to use it; the content does not unlawfully infringe another person's rights; and you have obtained necessary permissions for identifiable persons shown in the content where required.
7.4 Copyright Complaints
If you believe content on E-Ntare infringes your intellectual property rights, contact us at makocheraenterprize@gmail.com.
8. Privacy and Personal Data
Your privacy is important to us. Our handling of personal data is governed by the E-Ntare Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms. You should review the Privacy Policy before using the Platform.
Please see our Privacy Policy for full details on what we collect, how we use it, and your data rights.
9. User Content and Moderation
We may review, moderate, restrict, or remove content that we reasonably believe violates these Terms, is unlawful or harmful, infringes another person's rights, contains spam or malicious material, or poses a security or safety risk. Users may report content by contacting makocheraenterprize@gmail.com.
10. Third-Party Services and Links
E-Ntare may contain links, advertisements, business listings, or other features provided by third parties. Third-party services are subject to their own terms and policies. E-Ntare does not necessarily control or endorse third-party services and is not responsible for their content, availability, conduct, or performance, except where liability cannot lawfully be excluded.
11. Disclaimers
To the extent permitted by applicable law:
- E-Ntare is provided on an "as available" basis.
- We do not guarantee that the Platform will always be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
- We do not guarantee the accuracy of user-submitted content, business listings, opportunities, or community posts.
- We do not guarantee the success of donations, campaigns, business ventures, employment opportunities, or community projects.
- Content on the Platform should not be treated as professional legal, financial, medical, or investment advice.
- Community discussions and user submissions represent the views of their respective contributors, not necessarily those of E-Ntare, NSOBA, or Ntare School.
Nothing in these Terms excludes a consumer guarantee, legal right, or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, E-Ntare, its operator, affiliates, administrators, and authorised representatives shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive losses arising from use of the Platform, including loss of profits, business interruption, loss of data, or loss of anticipated benefits.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability for matters that cannot lawfully be limited, including liability arising from fraud, intentional misconduct, or applicable statutory protections.
13. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless E-Ntare, its operator, affiliates, administrators, and authorised representatives from claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses arising from your violation of these Terms, your unlawful use of the Platform, your submitted content, your infringement of another person's rights, your fraudulent or unauthorised activity, or your dealings with third-party businesses, service providers, or other users.
This clause does not apply to the extent that the relevant loss is caused by our own unlawful conduct or liability that cannot lawfully be transferred to you.
14. Suspension and Termination
14.1 Suspension by Us
We may suspend or restrict access to your account or certain services if you breach these Terms, your activity creates a security or safety risk, we are required to do so by law, your account is associated with suspected fraud, or a particular service is discontinued.
14.2 Account Closure by User
You may request closure of your account at any time. You can delete your account from the Profile page on the website, or from the "More" tab in the mobile app. Alternatively, you may contact us at makocheraenterprize@gmail.com. Account closure may not immediately erase records that we are legally required or otherwise permitted to retain, such as payment and donation records kept for tax and accounting purposes.
14.3 Effect of Termination
Upon termination, your right to use the relevant Platform services will cease. Provisions concerning intellectual property, payments, privacy, liability, dispute resolution, and other clauses intended to survive termination will continue to apply.
15. Platform Availability and Changes
We may update, modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature of E-Ntare at any time, including Shop products, donation campaigns, Business Directory features, events, community chat, partner portals, and the mobile application. Where reasonably practicable, we will provide notice of material changes.
16. Changes to These Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in the Platform, services, business operations, or applicable law. Updated Terms will be published on the Platform with a revised "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of E-Ntare after the effective date of revised Terms constitutes acceptance, to the extent permitted by law.
17. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the Republic of Uganda. If a dispute arises, the parties should first attempt to resolve it amicably through good-faith communication. Where appropriate, disputes may be referred to mediation or another agreed dispute-resolution process. If the dispute cannot be resolved, it may be submitted to a court of competent jurisdiction in Uganda. Nothing in this clause prevents a user from exercising rights available under applicable consumer protection or other mandatory laws.
18. General Provisions
- Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any applicable service-specific terms, form the agreement between you and the Platform operator regarding your use of E-Ntare.
- Severability: If any provision is found to be unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply.
- No Waiver: Failure to enforce a provision does not constitute a waiver of the right to enforce it later.
- Assignment: You may not transfer your rights or obligations without our prior written consent. We may transfer our rights in connection with a lawful restructuring, merger, or transfer of the Platform.
- Language: These Terms are written in English. If translations are provided, the English version governs.
